Whats Been Happening?

We had a fabulous Christmas this year. The best part was my mom was in GREAT health! Here are "The Old People". That is what we lovingly call my parents. They really aren't that old, 69 and 70 and still going strong! (It is just easier to put that in the cell phone.) Aren't they cute! (They have been married 50 years!)

My Parents "The Old People" Love Ya

Yummy food as always! Rib eye steak, baked potatoes and green beans!

Christmas Dinner

We even had a "White Christmas". That is pretty unusual for NW Arkansas. It was nice and pretty. But boy were we glad when it went away.

Me on the back porch on Christmas Day...Freezing!

For New Years we went to Branson, Missouri. We had fun. We went to the Dixie Stampede, Titanic and the Butterfly Palace. I loved it all but especially the Butterfly Palace!

Our little beautiful friend in a perched in a plant.

Three"White Butterflies" perched on a log in the fountain.

And then to top it off before we came home from Branson we went to Joe's Crab Shack! Wow! What a seafood lovers DELIGHT!

Joe's Crab Shack!
Needless to say...we are fat and sassy and doing well!

Oh...someone did bring bronchitis home with him from his Civil War Dig in South Carolina! The last thing I told him..."DO NOT BRING HOME ANY GERMS!" When will they ever listen?

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. No, not because we get to eat all of this really yummy food. Of course, that is a good reason, but that is not the real reason.

I have always loved getting together in the kitchen with my mom and my daughter and cooking. This year it will only be me and my mom. My daughter is in Korea with her husband and two children. Hopefully we will be together next Thanksgiving.

My favorite part of the day is cooking and then cleaning up the kitchen. I know that sounds so crazy but it is my favorite part.

When my daughter was little, we would always say what we were thankful for. It was a tradition at dinner time for her and I. She always made sure we did this. Of course if no one else would participate she and I would do it. We always enjoyed this.

I am so thankful for my wonderful daughter and her fabulous husband and my two precious grandchildren. My parents and my siblings. My significant other. My health, home and good job. For the brave people that fight for our freedom (my son-in-law) and the great country that we live in.

We all have so many things to be thankful for today and every day! It is amazing what wonderful lives we live!

Neat Things All Around Us!

I came home from work today. Nothing out of the ordinary. Forgot I sent out cards to my sibs that I had moved with my new address, joking that they should send me housewarming gifts. Went to the mail box...Look what my sister sent to me! Yes! 4 Martha Stewart DVD's stuffed in my Mail Box! YEEEE HAWWWWW!
Thank you sister!
Well, I went thrifting the other day. I found this cute little candle holder. I have this thing for candle holders. I don't know why. It really needed a home. So I bought it in all of it's not so beautiful state.

Brought it home and put a little paint to it and walla!

Yessssss! I love Shabby Chic!

I will let you know what Martha and I come up with later!

For now I am off!

Have a great evening!

A New Day A New Blog!

Well it is a New Day and A New Blog!

The old blog had to go to the wayside. That made me sad! But we all have our reasons for doing what we do. So now I am on to my new blog Really Just Rhonda!

So I thought I would share a new project with you.

I bought these really hideous chairs that have been hiding out in the garage for about oh....3 years...yes! 3 years. Well, I have been working on them and they are coming along quite nicely.

I bought the chairs for $8.00. Everybody thought I was crazy. What do you think?

The wood was peeling on some of the chairs and the cushions...yikes let's not go there.
Well get out the White Paint and some new fabric and wella!

Look what we have now! So that is a great deal don't you think!

Keep on coming back and maybe you will see the whole set of 5!

Have a great day!

Rhonda
